Deutschlandfunk

Deutschlandfunk*, transmitting presumably from Nordkirchen, Germany, was logged on 7 October 2014. German language programme featured Progressive Rock, with news and special reports, from 13.15 to 14.00 UTC (15.15 to 16.00 CET). Content included Anathema - "The Lost Song, Part 3"; report on a reggae group (Alan B?), Erlend Øye - "Rainman", music of the late Jeffery Holder (voodoo villain in James Bond film "Live & Let Die" and 7UP advertisements); station ID and time pips, followed by "Nachtrichten" presented by a female announcer; Bremen, Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Stuttgart weather conditions; remix of "Thank God"; report on buildings/landmarks in Berlin; Golden Choir - "My Heaven Is Lost"; report on Federico Fellini films, jazz tune; and lastly, station ID, time pips and "Nachtrichten" at 14.00 UTC. Reception on 549 kHz was (SINPO) 55555 - excellent on all accounts: strong and clear audio with no interference of any kind.

Deutschlandfunk*, transmitting presumably from  Heusweiler, Germany, was logged on  8 October 2014. Deutschlandfunk Kultur Nachtrichten, featuring reports on German Foreign Minister Steinmeier, jazz singer Jamie Cullum, Frankfurt Book Festival and news, was observed from 22.10 to 23.00 UTC (00.10 to 01.00 CET).  Reception on 1422 kHz was (SINPO) 54544 -- clear audio and strong signal, despite slight QRM from interfering station when signal faded briefly.

Reception report was emailed to Deutschlandfunk on 8 October 2014. QSL card arrived in the mail on 10 March 2015.
